In August 2026, Akpivath Neary Khmer Organization (ANKO), in collaboration with the Prongil Commune Administration and with the participation of the District Governor, organized a bicycle distribution activity for poor students living in Prongil and Sandrea communes, within the project’s target areas.
The activity aimed to support poor children in travelling to school regularly and on time, while reducing the difficulties and transportation costs they face in accessing education.
During the bicycle distribution ceremony, Mr. Thiam Sophat, Governor of the Phnom Kravanh District Board of Governors, presided over the event and handed over 87 bicycles to students from disadvantaged families in Prongil Commune, Phnom Kravanh District. On this occasion, the District Governor expressed his deep appreciation to the donors and partner organizations for their valuable contributions to supporting and promoting the future of Cambodian children.
1. Bicycle Distribution to Students in Prongil Commune
With financial support from ActionAid Cambodia and coordination by the Akpivath Neary Khmer Organization, the organization collaborated with the Prongil Commune Council to provide one bicycle each to 87 poor students who are among the project’s target beneficiaries. The bicycles were provided to facilitate students’ transportation to and from school.
2. Bicycle Distribution to Students in Sandrea Commune
With financial support from ActionAid Cambodia and coordination by the Akpivath Neary Khmer Organization, the organization collaborated with the Sandrea Commune Council to provide one bicycle each to 15 poor students who are among the project’s target beneficiaries. The bicycles are intended to serve as a means of transportation to school and help improve their access to education.
A total of 102 poor students from Prongil and Sandrea communes received one bicycle each. The support is intended to facilitate their daily travel to school, reduce transportation-related challenges, and contribute to improving educational opportunities for children from disadvantaged families.
